Who organized?

I will be wearing a denim shirt with a golden retriever logo. I will have the tallest golden you have probably ever seen - also known as the pony.

This is a monthly walk for golden lovers. Does your head turn every time you see a golden? Imagine walking along the ravine trail and seeing a huge pack of them all at once. Those bushy waggy tails are a sight to see. As a rescue volunteer for over 8 years, I have placed many goldens in the Roseville/Rocklin area. I want to give all my adopters a chance to meet other golden lovers and have an opportunity to keep in touch.

I wanted to organize a time when we would gather and go for a nice walk and get acquainted with the trail systems in the Roseville/Rocklin area. Each month we can meet at a different trail head. As the summer gets warmer we can move the meeting time to 8:00 am if everyone agrees.

There is no agenda. Just a meet and greet walk. Remember to bring poop bags - biodegradable ones are appreciated. Please share this with all your golden buddies.

The first walk meeting place will be at Sculpture Park just behind 24 Hour Fitness. The Miner's Ravine Trail is very nice. It can be as long or short as anyone wants it to be. If you go the full length it is about 3 miles one way and ends near Sierra College Blvd. For this first walk let's keep it at about a mile.

I will get several copies of the trail system map and have it available for everyone our first day out. We can decide then where the next walk will be.

Please call me with any questions! 916-727-7068

I think that this being the first walk, that they will become easier for all to socialize more and the dogs to settle down around one another more. I hope all that were there this time will attend again and give everyone another chance. It truly was a fun event.

Who attended?

    •  I very much enjoyed the walk and the scenery associated with where we walked. The day was perfect and the weather was great. It was great to meet new people and share their 'doggy' stories as well.
    •  2 women with 2 dogs each took off. One guy turned back soon, another guy had an out of control little puppy, result: I walked alone with my dog. I could have stayed in EDH and walked the trails in El Dorado County or along the American River starting in Folsom. I came for the social walk. Guess I will try one more time. But it'snot worth the 20 mile drive each way if I have to walk by myself anyway. Otherwise, the trail is nice.
