Who organized?

I will be wearing a denim shirt with a golden retriever logo. I will have the tallest golden you have probably ever seen - also known as the pony.

This is a monthly walk for golden lovers. Does your head turn every time you see a golden? Imagine walking along the ravine trail and seeing a huge pack of them all at once. Those bushy waggy tails are a sight to see. As a rescue volunteer for over 8 years, I have placed many goldens in the Roseville/Rocklin area. I want to give all my adopters a chance to meet other golden lovers and have an opportunity to keep in touch.

I wanted to organize a time when we would gather and go for a nice walk and get acquainted with the trail systems in the Roseville/Rocklin area. Each month we can meet at a different trail head. As the summer gets warmer we can move the meeting time to 8:00 am if everyone agrees.

There is no agenda. Just a meet and greet walk. Remember to bring poop bags - biodegradable ones are appreciated. Please share this with all your golden buddies.

The first walk meeting place will be at Sculpture Park just behind 24 Hour Fitness. The Miner's Ravine Trail is very nice. It can be as long or short as anyone wants it to be. If you go the full length it is about 3 miles one way and ends near Sierra College Blvd. For this first walk let's keep it at about a mile.

I will get several copies of the trail system map and have it available for everyone our first day out. We can decide then where the next walk will be.

Please call me with any questions! 916-727-7068

I have company coming but I'm going to try to make it at least for the first half hour or so. I'm really excited about meeting others with Golden companions! I live in Orangevale near Greenback & Fair Oaks.

Chico is 2.5 hours from here so a bit too far - but if anyone has info on an agility or flyball group in her area - please post for us.

I'm not sure about the Chico area but this group will be awesome for the pup and maybe try some agility classes or obedience. That helps so much because it's fun for the both of you and you both are learning! We will be attending Placer Dog in Granite Bay and I hear nothing but great things about them from people in my Agility group. Is GB to far? Kari~

I am going to have a new baby on July 28th. ( not sure where to post this) I am trying to look ahead and find others that can help me socialize this new boy. I don't know anyone in the area. Any info would be appreciated. I live in the Chico area.

We walk and ride our bikes on this trail all the time:) Lots of places for the dogs to get some water! Just remember.....NO DOG in ANY Roseville park! We were almost cited for walking at a park with our dogs!Just a friendly reminder! Kari~

Will try to attend with Blazer. Do you ever meet closer to El Dorado Hills or Folsom? Hope you can make it this time, Shirlee. Liane

Very enjoyable walk. It was a lot of fun, and my golden had a great time!
    •  It was 2 meetings, not 1. About 9 or so people went off on their own, didn't introduce themselves, their dog's names, nothing. They just took off ahead of the other 3 of us and we never saw them again. I have no idea why that happened but my personal feeling is that if for some reason those other people don't want to be part of the group, they should either form a group of their own or act like they belong to our group by participating WITH us and show respect for being a real part of our group. It was obvious that they didn't want to have anything to do with the rest of us. I felt it was extremely rude of those people to sign up as part of a group (on paper only) and then ignore some of us completely!

Had a very nice time. Friendly people with nice dogs. The walk was nice. Loved the stream and water that was tucked away. Enjoyed the outing. will do it again.
